Naked in Colorado

Naked in Colorado

An OFF ROAD adventure while naked? Why Not! We lucked out at the airport car rental and got a free upgrade to a 4WD Jeep. So, the trip just became a lot more fun!

We got a local hint about jeep trails in the mountains and decided to follow one of the trails up to see how high up we could get. We encountered a beautiful Aspen forest outside of Aspen, CO. We were thrilled to have such a unique location essentially all to ourselves for most of the journey.

Being from Florida, we are used to the earth feeling flat, so Colorado offered us a lot of the 3rd dimension. The trails were steep and bumpy at times, but more than rewarding for the expansive lookouts that make you feel like an eagle.

We thought if we were lucky, we might see snow near by. We didn’t quite expect to find our trail completely blocked by snow. But this explains why we had the trail to ourselves. So we made the most of it and played around in the snow. It’s cool, because it was warm enough to be naked, but the snow doesn’t melt so easily at high altitudes, so we got to be naked in the snow. But in case you wonder, the ice is still FREEZING on your butt!

Apologies for the excessive snow pictures. We are from Florida, so we think snow is AMAZING! hehe.

Our last adventure on our way back to the airport involved an early visit to Piney Lake outside of Vail, CO. A bit of Googling for photogenic locations in Colorado had revealed the mirror like waters of Piney Lake. Getting there early we had hoped to have the lake to ourselves, and, we did!

As beautiful as these spots were, our main reason for visiting Colorado was actually to see some of our best friends and to visit Valley View Hot Springs and Great Sand Dunes National Park. Be sure to check out those blogs too!
