Searching for a Nude Beach

Searching for a Nude Beach

Some Nude Beaches are super obvious, well known and easy to find… but some of the best spots can be found if you’re willing to put on your Sherlock Holmes hat (and nothing else, of course)!

We love adventures,,, we love traveling and we love spending time together. Just us, away from the demands of every day life. This is when you really get to know someone intimately. Traveling is the best adventure but like any good adventure, it comes with challenges. You have to work around language differences, complex itinerary connections, flight delays, etc. In these situations, it’s always good to just go with the flow. Every issue, or unforeseen situation, can be fixed….it sometimes just takes a little creativity.

Never underestimate the power of Google and a little research,,, but go in with an open mind and be willing to go with the flow. Some of our absolute all-time favorite spots had to be searched for. Sometimes it feels like hide and seek but treasure hunting for an awesome locations is super rewarding. When you finally reach your destination and realize “we found it”. Not only will you never forget the location but you’ll never forget the journey it took to get there.

One of our favorite countries is France… The language, the food, the scenery and we have found the people to be incredibly friendly (outside of the big cities that is). Oh yeah, and most people speak at least a little English which is super helpful when trying to order at a restaurant, check into a hotel, Airbnb or other lodging. Most restaurants even offer an English menu upon request.

We especially love the south of France and the unreal (we must be on another planet) looking Calanques. Cassis is a Mediterranean fishing port town in southern France that has an especially breathtaking coast line. Overlooking it all is a centuries old château. It’s known for rocky beaches, the calanques and narrow inlets framed by steep lime stone cliffs. The harbor features pastel colored buildings, sidewalk cafés, restaurants, farmers market (seasonally) and street musicians… Oh the heavenly Crapes,,, both sweet and savory,,, don’t skip the crapes!

Since we are Naturists, we also always seek out fun new and unique places to get naked and enjoy some clothes free relaxation… We don’t have to be naked all the time by any means but it does start to feel oppressive when we’ve been stuck in clothes too long…

France is awesome in that most beaches are topless friendly; but we wanted more. Sooo we went looking for a true Nude Beach. It turns out it wasn’t really a Nude Beach,,, it was more of a Nude Rock… But,,,, sooooo beautiful.

One surprising thing we couldn’t help but notice was that the demographic was pretty even. Men, women, cupels, old, young and even women by themselves. Seeing attractive young women by themselves on a Nude Beach and no one bothered or even approached them. This is fantastic,,, I wouldn’t recommend trying this in the U.S… Unfortunately a woman alone on a nude beach in America WILL get unwanted attention. Such a refreshing sight to see this beautiful alternative!

Why cant Americans be that way??? Respectful… I think it has a lot to do with America’s obsession with advertisements and what sells better than anything else? Sex... Sex sells,,, let’s face it that scantily clad supermodel on a yacht is going to sell Gold Schlager better than any adorable puppy could. So, we sexualize everything. We don’t just stop with supermodels, it pours over into young men and women and even young boys and girls. Everyone wants to dress up and look just a little older than they really are.

What happened to kids just being kids, playing outside barefoot, never thinking about what we were wearing or not wearing?

If you haven’t yet, check out The South of France and if you’re feeling adventurous stop by the most awesome Nude Rock we’v been to….the hard part is that this Nude Rock has no name. But, that’s part of the adventure, right? Maybe we should name it “Plage Littoral”, or just stick with “Nude Rock” :) If you are looking for it, it’s a short hike outside of Cassis off the bend of a residential street called Impasse du Littoral. No parking, so, it’s best to walk. Happy Hunting!!
